If youre only a few days late or even 29 days late with that payment youll be glad to know your mortgage lender wont be aware of it being barely late on your credit card payment wont be reported to the credit bureaus you have to be late for about a month before a card issuer will report you to the credit bureaus as delinquent. A late payment doesnt affect your credit until it is at least 30 days late but the impact on your credit score can be huge many credit card issuers allow you to select your due date. If you are a few days late do your best to pay your bill before the beginning of the next billing cycle doing so will prevent the credit card company from reporting a negative payment history to the credit bureaus which can damage your credit scorecreditors typically report delinquent payments once they become at least 30 days late so make your payment before becoming 30 days delinquent. If the payment is 30 days late banks and credit card companies report consumer history to credit bureaus equifax transunion and experion on an ongoing basis
